4-24: Easter/31st birthday!

I love Easter!!! I really do. I could hardly fall asleep last night because I was so excited about Easter morning being right around the corner. Yes, I turned 31 today, and yes I still feel like a 5 yr old sometimes!

I am going to choose my top few favorite photos from the day, and I’ll put the rest of Facebook. Because there are so many cute ones! We have some sweet friends here who came over to celebrate and have church with us. Their two kids are precious and we all had so much fun!

How can you not dance when everyone is singing "He is risen!"

4-23: Lovely day with a side of drama

Nathan and his workers needed to do some very loud work on the house today. So we abandoned ship! Actually we just went into town for a while. Cloe and I got our hair trimmed…

This is what Brennah does sometimes while I make dinner. Fun with beans!

The drama of the day came just before bedtime. A few weeks ago, Cloe hurt one of her little teeth playing with Brennah. It’s been really loose ever since! Today I noticed that the gum wasn’t looking great, so we decided that tooth needed to go. It was pretty stuck! But Nathan eventually got it out with some floss, and before long Cloe was bouncing around holding her tooth and asking how much money the tooth fairy would be bringing her. Yes, drama is abundant around here, but at least it’s short-lived!

4-22: Easter party!

We had an Easter party with our playgroup friends today, and it was great fun! We colored eggs, played games, and ate a birthday cake that my friend Rebecca made for me. Have I ever mentioned how wonderful her tres leches cake is?? Oh my. Anyway! Here are some pics of our great day!

In Mexico, the first activity is always hugs and kisses all around. Here, Brennah and Kyara demonstrate!

Gabi's prize creation. A while later Cloe and I talked about eggs representing new life. She said "like Jesus gives us!" We decided that Easter eggs are special because they are beautiful... in the same way that Jesus doesn't just give us life, but a more beautiful and meaningful life!

As is normal for rainy season, the afternoon shower went torrential on us. No, this isn't a river... it's just the road to our house!

We embraced the cozy rainy afternoon with a puzzle. How many daddys do princess puzzles with their girls?? Yeah, he's a keeper.

4-21: Starbucks!!

Nathan and I had to make an airport run early this-morning. Followed by several errands. My favorite one being a visit to Chiapas’ first Starbucks!!

4-20: Pretty rain

Brennah loves the rain. She loves being in the sunroom where we have skylights… they are so loud when it rains! Today, when she heard the rain start, she climbed onto the back of the couch to watch.

Our "happy Easter" sticker is a fun thing to pick at while we watch the rain.

4-19: Happy sick moments

Brennah finally caught the cold that Gabi and a few others around here have had for a while. Poor baby! She has a bad cough and constantly runny nose, and only wants to be held by her mama all day long. But there was a happy moment today, after naptime. She sat on the table, snacking on a tortilla, and I took a few pics.

When I asked "where is your happy face?" this was her answer!

Toes! Have you ever seen cuter toes?

This is my latest favorite meal. I cook the chicken in lime juice, roll in flour tortillas, then fry! Cover in shredded cheddar, fresh pico de gallo, and sour cream. YUM!!

4-18: Comfy and cozy

It was a typical day at our house. Sunny and warm outside, but rather chilly in our house. So before we started school, Cloe and I built a fire in the fireplace and make ourselves some hot tea. It was such a sweet morning!

School by the fireplace! Reason #328 that we love homeschooling!

4-17: Perfect Palm Sunday

This day was wonderful!! We went to Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rachel, not knowing that it was their big anniversary celebration. What a fun surprise! We came home, and that’s when I started snapping pictures.

Brennah, my wonderful third-born! (Yes, she was far too busy to look up at the camera!)

After naptime, we headed back into town for a folklore “ballet” that we wanted to take the girls to. We had almost the entire theatre to ourselves, and it was so fun! I took a million pictures, but I’ve been having a hard time getting them to post right. So we’ll try for just a couple favorites.

Brennah loved our front-row seats. So close to the action!

This dance comes from Oaxaca. My girls loved how the pattern in their dance braided the ribbon around that pole.

These palm branches are all over town every year on Palm Sunday, and you can buy any one of them for 10 pesos (less than a dollar).

Brennah was determined to figure out how to take her branch apart...

The big girls took a few minutes to giggle together while we waited for our pizza. I wish I could bottle their giglgles for rainy days. Precious!

We stopped at an AMAZING French pastry shop on our way home. What a yummy treat for us to enjoy with Miss Rachel before bedtime!

4-16: A fun not-hot day

Nathan needed to make some big drilling noises and turn off our water this-morning. So we decided it would be a good time for a grocery run! It was a normal trip to the store, except today there was this big fan thing running in the entry-way. Brennah was absolutely enthralled with it!

She would slowly ease her way toward the fan, and reach out to touch it!

As soon as her hands made contact with the moving material, she would turn on her heel and run back to me... squeeling and giggling!

When we were in town, it was hot. We had the A/C running in the car, and the girls kept begging to go to a pool somewhere! So when we got home, they rushed to get in the swimsuits and had Miss Rachel help them fill up their “pool.” Turns out, we are several degrees cooler up here at our house, and there was a little bit of a breeze…

Huddling together for warmth! And yet, they still had a blast.

4-15: Independent eater

Brennah does not like to be fed. At all. Sometimes, if she can’t feed herself, she claims to be full! Today, I was giving her bites off of my fork… she wasn’t a fan!

She took my fork and requested her own bowl!
